You will always get compromise if you wish to pay $299 for a phone. No one will sell their flagship phone at Google Nexus price. You will get a clean Android OS, but you will not get the best hardware, there are phones out there with better battery life, camera, storage option and speakers. This is coming from a hardcore Nexus user.
