Google Nexus 5: first benchmarks

It is a discipline where smartphones have closely followed what was on PC for a long time the benchmark. The Nexus 5 is no exception.

What is a benchmark? Typically, this is a software developed to run an appliance to its maximum capacity and assign a score. As the benchmark is always the same, the score provides a fairly reliable value to compare two or more products so objective, at least in terms of raw power. That the benchmark does not take into account, on the one hand is the optimization of some processors to be stronger than their actual performance scores, and secondly, the reality of the ease of use that does not depend not the processor or components tested.
Anyway, in other words, the benchmark is a specific but not an infallible tool tool should be taken of the height of the results and to consider that their strict value, an indication of the power of a smartphone. PhoneArena, who obviously already a Nexus 5 in hand, could do some tests well known to fans. The first SunSpider, handles processor performance: Nexus 5 is doing very well.

The Nexus 5 comes directly to rank second, the lowest score being the best, simply failing to dethrone the iPhone 5S. It is far ahead of the Galaxy S4. The second benchmark tests the graphics processor of the device:

Once again, the Nexus 5 is not to pick up in the high average premium Android. The iPhone 5S, he flies ahead of the competition. The second graph test is more in favor of the Nexus 5:

As you can see, the device Google plays par with the iPhone 5S, which costs about twice as much. This is an excellent result, which shows that, on average, the Nexus 5 is a top of the line, sold at a midrange price. Lovers of large numbers can be reassured.
